Quebec leader develops business in West Africa

48th North International - Mines is proud to be one of the business development partners of Drapeau Corporation in West Africa.

Drapeau Corporation is a Quebec leader in the field of lifting equipment such as cranes, hoists, forklift trucks and telehandlers as well as related engineering, maintenance and repair services. The company also operates in the field of railway equipments.

The mission in West Africa enabled the company to see the business potential in Guinea Conakry in rail transport related to the transport of minerals, related services as well as the rental potential of lifting equipment in good working order in Côte d'Ivoire.

"In Guinea Conakry, the main railway line is currently under construction to increase the traffic due to the exploitation of the Bauxite deposits by the Russians and the Chinese who will use this line for transportation," said Mr. Patrick Lapointe, Executive Director.

In Côte d'Ivoire the company has set up a potential local partner to operate a fleet of cranes for the industrial sector.

"We met and identified potential local partners that will support us in terms of services and expertise, but also in terms of financing for rental equipment," says Patrick Lapointe.

Drapeau Corporation joins the principles of business development, put forward by 48th North International, including the development of skills and capabilities of local suppliers in West Africa.
